 Fred
Charap was born Brooklyn, New York, of a
family of Russian-Jewish immigrants. He received a Master’s
In Public Administration and another in Urban Studies from
Yale University. In the 80’s he abandoned his legal career
and dedicated himself to art, enrolling in the San
Francisco Art Institute.
